Did Jesus Die on a Friday?

Good Friday is the day which many around the world observe as the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Catholic Encyclopedia describes Good Friday as "the Friday on which the Church keeps the anniversary of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ." Now, I really never could figure out how anyone could put Jesus' death on Friday. Do the math. Jesus was crucified on Wednesday, not Friday. Do not be deceived blind followers of the blind. Do your homework. I created the following timeline to help us understand:

So what's the big deal? So what if Jesus was crucified on Wednesday or Friday.? What does it matter? Just this: God wants us to worship Him in Spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Apostasy begins in the slightest of error. We must be careful what we believe. Jesus admonished the Pharisees for this.
Matthew 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

I agree with your overall layout, but disagree with a couple of particulars.

Both Marys go and buy spices after sunset when the Sabbath ended
(Mar 16:1)

You had that statement on the first day of the week - however, you are overlooking this:

Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

The women bought spices after one sabbath (and I have never read anywhere that there were Jewish shops in the first century open after sundown on Saturday night - though that does not effect the rest of this point), YET they prepared the spices before the sabbath. The first sabbath would be the ceremonial sabbath and the second one the weekly one; therefore, they bought and prepared the spices on Friday - after one sabbath, but before the next one.

Day 2 - Feast of First Fruits
"...in the morrow after the Sabbath..." (Lev 23:11)

This is referring to Sunday, the first day of the week - fulfilled in type in Christ's resurrection.

Leviticus 23:6-11 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

I know the verse does not state specifically which sabbath is in view, but comparing with the NT will show that it pictures Jesus' resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:20-23 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
